When we give our house to the Lord, we can live freely knowing the Battle has already been won.
My Story
Being in education for just shy of twenty years, I've sat across the table from hundreds of momma's, thankful that the Lord continues to allow me to share in countless precious moments.
In my office, I’ve helped wipe the fresh tears falling from a mother’s face, listened when a mother felt completely hopeless and lost, and encouraged mothers when things were really, really tough for their daughters. I’ve been heartbroken alongside mothers when the enemy was at work, and I’ve been fired up to take back the lost ground the enemy has tried to steal from households.
I’ve been blessed to mentor middle and high school girls for almost 20 years, and here’s what I know: when the door is cracked open, even just a little, for the Lord to move, He moves mountains. I’ve seen miracles unfold right before my eyes. Yes, in public schools, my neighborhood, my home.
It may seem I’ve been pouring into these ladies. Yet, they’ve unknowingly poured into me throughout the years, being part of the learning and unlearning, molding, shaping of me as a mom.
Although I’m passionate about what I do, the most important part of me is being a wife and a mom. I’m wired to be my girls’ mom. Being a mother is my heart. It’s my favorite calling. There’s nothing I’m more passionate about, outside of being his wife, declaring households as the Lord’s and serving His Kingdom.
My Misson
Households are being attacked. We have households who are uninformed, unengaged and unprepared to fight this battle. It’s not hard to succumb to the unrelenting sense of despair and become disoriented about your role in the fight to protect your home from the schemes and onslaughts of the enemy.
The enemy comes to “kill, steal and destroy” and our households are a prime target of his attacks. I believe that one of the most powerful weapons we have is a Godly household. I hope you leave our time together with a strengthened Christian mind and an activation of your God-given Authority in your home!
In Psalm 34, God shares his promises of freeing us from fear (34:4), taking our shame away (34:5), guarding, surrounding and defending us (34:7), showing us He is good (34:8), providing all we need (34:9), and the list goes on. However, there is a participation on our part we must step into.
We must: trust in Him (34:10), seek Him (34:17), take refuge in Him (34:8), fear Him (34:9), refrain from lying (34:13), seek peace (34:14), serve Him (34:22).
I’ve seen time and time again families who let the world happen. I want families to realize that with intentional and deliberate parenting/leadership you can take back the ground you've lost “going with the flow”. Our ignorance has grave consequences for our children in the long run, and He has equipped us to start taking back the ground God gave us today! When we give our house to the Lord, we live freely knowing the Battle has already been won.
I pray that you can find encouragement and courage to step into your role as a mother boldly and lovingly and I pray that this space stirs something within you to draw you closer and closer to our Creator of the Universe and Lord and Savior of our lives. I pray this living Faith is handed down for generations to come.
