I woke up, and I was 40

This morning, I got to wake up to a healthy body.

This morning, just like most every morning, I got to connect with the God of the universe and was reminded how exquisitely, unbelievably amazing this gift of being in union with Him is.

This morning I got to wake up to the husband of my dreams in the home that I love.

I got to wake up to three beautiful pre-teen and teen daughters that are my everything.

This morning I got to wake up and drive to a place that I absolutely love to be, working with friends who are more like family.

I got to wake up living a life where I have the opportunity to have deep, meaningful impact.

This morning, I got to wake up to Fall weather.

A healthy breakfast.

Friends helping me along the way on my health journey.

I got to wake up to beauty all around me.

Cute leopard shoes.

I got to wake up to my daughter running into my room first thing and saying “happy birthday mom”!!!!

I got to wake up to having two parents who still send me flowers and love to still sing happy birthday to me over the phone.

I got to wake up…. and drive to work listening to some of my favorite country music…

And I’ve decided at 40 that I am not going to take for granted this life I get to live here while on earth and that from this day forward I want more of the Lord living in me and Me in Him.

And absolutely more flannels…

Thank you, Lord, for waking me up for another day and for everything over the past 40 years.

I don’t believe I’ve given 40 too much thought because I’ve just been living a whole lot of life….

But, sitting in this morning with you at 40, Lord, is the most wonderful place to be.
